Preparing for Greece

Not yet there but already tasting Greek food!

Yesterday we went to a Greek / Italian restaurant in London, Blackheath Village. Some good stuff if not all. But those were looking great and some where very good too.

The pita with spinach and goat cheese was the best. Also preparing to take a lot of photos there, soon.

Countdown - 3 more days to go in London rain.

And, here a photo from a pal, Eleanna, who is ready to stroll with me.
In the oldest part of Athens.
Old,  sad and badly cared for reality makes a wonderful photo - as if it were a painting. Same is with a story often - the new and beautiful is not the most interesting to tell. The wounded and still living is.

1 January 2014

Braving age and braving the elements, we were there! Audience, paraders, workers.
The lady dancing in the rain, the veteran founding a place to stay two hours before the beginning, the festive ceremony speaker on ad hoc podium, the young dancing, the orchestras with their music and some on the top of their beautiful horses.
The small train model, and even as some hid under their umbrella, kids enjoyed the rain. And the handicapped young girl smiled as the photographer originally from Germany and the dancers danced.

I found ways to be there, find some cover from time to time, but mingle, speak with others too. Coming home, very happy of my first day in my 80th years.
